THE PA GENERAL ASSEMBLY VOTES TO EXPAND CLEAN SLATE!

Congratulations, PA! It's time to expand Clean Slate and expand opportunity in Pennsylvania.

On December 13th, the PA Senate voted to expand Pennsylvania’s Clean Slate law to qualified drug and property-related felony convictions. HB 689, or “Clean Slate 3.0,” already passed the House on June 5th and was approved on December 13th as amended by the Senate. It will now be sent to Governor Shapiro’s desk. If and when the Governor signs the bill and it becomes law, Pennsylvanians with old felonies will be able to access automated criminal record sealing for the first time.

CLEAN SLATE UPDATE

House Bill 689 has been approved by the PA House and Senate and awaits Governor Shapiro's signature!  The new Clean Slate bill would allow drug felony convictions to be sealed automatically after 10 years without a conviction, and some property-related felony convictions to be sealed by petition after 10 years without a conviction.  Read more.
