The new Clean Slate bill (HB 1826) would bring Pennsylvania into the mainstream by becoming the 38th state to seal some felonies after 10 crime-free years. Most drug felonies would be sealed by automation, not requiring eligible individuals to file petitions. The new Clean Slate bill would help people with criminal records who no longer present risk to improve their employment prospects and help Pennsylvania employers find candidates for jobs that they desperately need to fill.
The bills have bipartisan support in the General Assembly and support from a broad range of organizations and individuals. The following is the growing and diverse list of supporters of the new Clean Slate bill.
