How to Check Your Record

Click here to use the interactive tool. Type in your information, and click “Sign Up.”

Step 1: Check If Your Record Has Sealed

Your record might have been sealed since you last checked! Use the tool to try to find your record. You can also use our step-by-step guide for more help looking up your record on the court website.

Step 2: Check If Your Record is Eligible for Sealing

Clean Slate’s rules can be complex, so it is not always easy to know right away if your record is eligible for sealing. After you pull up your record using the interactive tool, scroll down to Step 2: Read Your Public Record” and “Step 3: Check Your Convictions” to help you check your record and see if it can be sealed. Or continue to use our step-by-step guide to see if your record is eligible for sealing.

Remember, no felony (“F”) convictions are eligible for sealing at this time. If you have a first degree misdemeanor (“M1”) conviction on your record, it is not eligible for automatic sealing. It may be eligible to be sealed by petition, depending on the conviction.

Some records are missing grading information (such as “M” or “F”) or disposition information (such as “Guilty” or “Dismissed”). Records that are missing information will not seal automatically. If your record is missing information, you should speak to a lawyer.

Step 3: Check to See If You Owe Money on Your Case

If you owe restitution on your case, your record will not seal until it is paid off.  For more information on fees, fines and restitution, read our FAQ.
